I use strips on the front of my cards about 2/3 near the bottom adding
to the paper that covers most of the front of the card. Before attaching
I cut scallops at the bottom of the strip, or use a punch to make a pattern,
so that before adding an image or embellishment I have a nice front of card
with a pattern plus a matching plain or patterned paper. I leave a
small edging all around and usually round the top two corners.
Where the two papers join, I add ribbon. This can be done
using more than two matching papers. Around the image I sometimes
put a mat of the same colour, or close in colour to the card I am using
and then everything matches. More than one strip can be added too.
Hope I have explained this clearly enough.
You can also take a few strips and weave them together - I haven't tried
that yet. I think all of us have lots and lots of leftover strips, so you will
probably get a few more ideas from other crafters.
Dannyelle, thank you for telling us about the Bargello technique - it is
an easy way to use up our scrap strips. It is an excellent video by
Wonderful idea! And this one also uses buttons!
Thank you for sharing!
