Paper Craft Planet

Paper Crafting, Rubber Stamping, Scrapbooking, and more

Paper Craft Planet comes with many types of notifications to allow you to receive emails about new activity on the network. You'll receive email notifications when you have new private messages, new friend requests, or when we send out a broadcast message to all members. You can follow any blog post or forum discussion, and by default you'll follow those you participate in. You can choose whether you want to receive any, all, or none of these notifications from your "Email settings" page. You also have full control over who can send you a private message, and can block any member from doing so at any time. Read on for more information on controlling your email settings and messages.

Private messages

When you join Paper Craft Planet, you'll automatically be able to exchange messages with the Administrators. In order to exchange messages with any other member of the Planet, you'll need to first become friends with that member. When accepting friend requests, keep this in mind. You might not want to accept a person if you wouldn't feel comfortable if they contacted you privately.

If you'd like to prevent someone from sending you private messages, you can block messages from any member on the network. To block a sender, go to your inbox and locate a message they've sent you. Open the message and click the "Block messages" link.

Notifications

There are a number of different types of notifications you'll receive from Paper Craft Planet by default. This includes messages sent to only you, to groups you belong to, to your events, to the whole network, or messages people sent to all of their friends, and the notifications you receive when you have new friend requests, when people you've invited join, and when you have new comments to approve.

You can turn off any or all email notifications coming from your social network from your Email Settings page.

To get to your Email Settings page, click on the "Settings" link in the right column of the page.

Next, click the "Email" tab. This page displays all of the different types of notifications you'll receive from your social network.

In the "Social network Messages" section, you can control the email notifications you receive when messages are sent on Paper Craft Planet.

In the "Member Activity" section, you can control email notifications generated by activity on the Paper Craft Planet.

In the "Following discussions and blog posts" section, you can choose whether or not you automatically follow discussions and blog posts you add and those you reply to. If you're already following blog posts and discussions, you can stop following all at once by clicking the "Clear My Follow List" button.

Turn off all notifications

Finally, if you don't want to receive any email notifications, you can check the box next to "None: I don't want to receive emails" at the bottom of the page. Keep in mind this means you will not know when you've been sent private messages until you log in to Paper Craft Planet, and you won't receive broadcast messages.

I just won something from a blogger who is a member here, Judy, and she told me to email her but their is no info how? Do you know how I would?
You can use the Planet email -- just use her member name. Just click on your inbox, click compose and enter her member name. You can also go to her "My Page" and select "send member a message"
I've selected the "None: i don't want to receive emails" because my in box just gets too full. This still isn't blocking them from coming though.
Check the address and see if it is coming from mail@papercraftplanet. If it is, let me know and I can have it stopped - with the exception of stuff I send to all members (like the newsletter) which is never more than once per week.

Sometimes other NING community members will still email you and there is nothing to stop it on our end, because it comes from outside PaperCraftPlanet.

I selected "None, I don't want to receive emails", but I am still receiving the PCP newsletter.

I do not wish to receive emails.  Can you fix it so that I can unsubscribe and not get them?

It doesn't give me that option from the newsletter.  That's a option you should add to the newsletter so we don't have to bug you to do it.

Deloris, the newsletter is a separate thing all together.  There is an unsubscribe link at the bottom of it to remove you from the email list.  We didn't want it tied to the system here, because too many people turn it off to keep from being bombarded with group updates.

I'm still looking for the best way to communicate with members and have things be streamlined.  It's a process!  I appreciate your patience :)

If you still have the newsletter, scroll to the bottom and click "unsubscribe".  Otherwise, do it next week when I pester you again.  If you can't find the link -- hit reply to the newsletter and I'll be able to remove you that way.

If I'm following a discussion - is there a way to see what was added (the reply contents) rather than just notification that something has been added?

Thanks!
Not right now. That will hopefully come out with an update. Sure is a great idea!
Thank you, ma'am.
Hi there,
I was wondering if you have heard of "Nutshell Maill"? It is a nifty way of controlling/organizing your Twitter/Facebook/You Tube/Linked IN/My space/and NING network mail Sites. It allows for organization and timely mail. Could you please consider this? Let me know what you think.

"A customization dashboard that enables users to select the messages
and notifications they want to receive to help filter out the noise while
ensuring they don't miss the content that matters most

-- Ability to reply directly through email on information streams to
update status, comment on posts, share stories, write on walls and send
Tweets; all social networking interactions can now be done via email so
users don't have to visit each and every site

-- Keep track of Facebook pages and friend lists to ensure that users
never miss a post from their favorite Facebook people and pages

-- Twitter lists and search phrase tracking to ensure that users do not
miss Tweets from those they care most about"

Thank you so much,
Tricia B.
PS. Seesmic does not work on my 64k computer, unsure why.
Thanks so much for the heads up -- I hadn't heard of Nutshell mail and I've just added it for the network. Look at the top of the page to sign up. We'll see how it goes!

Hi

I'm just getting started at looking at the 3D Challenges.

How do I pull up the 3Dchallenges, with out having to pull up the replies/discussion information?

Thanks Gennie BD
