Does anyone know the best way to convert a SVG file to something that can be downloaded into my Cricut Gypsy and then cut on my Cricut Expression.  I purchased a template that had and SVG file and it said that it could be downloaded right into the Gypsy, but I can't figure out how.  Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated!

I've been researching this question and so far I think that the only way I can cut an SVG file on my cricut is if I download the sure cuts a lot software. Has anyone ever used this software and have an opinion on how it works, and if it is worth downloading when I already have purchased the cricut gypsy?
I don't have the Gypsy, so I can't help you there, but there is another program that allows you to import SVG files to be able to cut them on your C it's called Make The Cut. I have been using it for a couple of months, and it does an awesome job. The creator is working on an update to it, and it should be released soon. There is never any charge for updates with MTC. And it is on sale right now. The program is easy to use, and they have a forum full of freindly and helpful people if you run into any problems. I'm not sure if it's okay to put links here, but you can do a search for Make the Cut and I'm sure you will find it that way.
Thank you! I did some research on sure cuts a lot and it was mostly positive feedback from users, so I decided to go with that one. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but it sounded like it would work.
I have both Sure Cuts a lot and Make the Cut and use both of them for various things. Both use SVG files. I like them both a lot and they have made the Cricut much more versatile, while not being tied to using cartridges. I am not sure that they would be able to be used with the Gypsy as it is a Provocraft product whereas the SCAL and MTC programs are computer based and are designed to work with the Cricut as third party products.
I've found out that they can't, but I went with the sure cuts a lot anyway, I wanted to expand the use of my cricut.
You won't regret getting the SCAL, it is possible to convert the files, you have to use Inkscape and all that - it's not easy to do, I gave up once I had converted one file!!!! Have fun.

I use SCAL2 with my Cricut. I have loved it and glad that I found that version. I have not been able to use it with my Gypsy yet, but it is still versatile and easy to use. I use Inkscape to work with .jpeg files.
