Hello,
I wonder about the CirCut machine.
It looks great and I want one.
Does anyone own one?
Would they recommend one?
What is the best model in your opinion?
Thanks for your input.

Hi Louise! I own a Cricut Expression. I think it's very easy to use. The downside (for me) is that I have to purchase cartridges which are a bit expensive for me (who lives outside the US). But it's a very user friendly machine, with a lot of cartridges to use. It's superb if you want multiples of your die cuts. I have owned a Silhouette before, but I sold it. I found it more easy to have a machine who is not attached to a computer. Now you get a QK Silhouette without the attachement to a computer. Good luck!
Thank you so much for your feedback!
I like the idea of not using a computer as well.
True, the cartridges are expensive.(probably the reason I am hesitating so much!)
I also like the way it does not waste your paper.
Thanks again,
Happy Cards and all that's paper!
Louise
Hi again, Louise!
There are probably a lot of reasons to buy other machines, but I do think that Silhoutte also requires downloading die cuts - and you have to pay for it. Maybe the best thing about Silhouette is that you don't have to purchase any alphabeth cartridges - because you can use the fonts you have on your computer. But I don't use a lot of QK die cuts, so for me Cricut is nice.
Hope you get any answers from other Cricut lovers out there! :)
Louise i also have a cricut ex. i love it but i dont use it much, its great if you add alot of dies to your lay outs and if you use it for cards.i got mine when all the hype was going on.i have about 16 carts and alot i bought on sale at michaels, for 29.99.Try the cuttle bug, big shot they have some great die shapes. I love them both and its alot cheaper.i use both of them more then the cricut.i hoped that helped
Hello,

Thanks for your thoughts on this.
I have considered the Cuttle Bug too.
It will probably come down to cost, and
how often i will actually get to use it.
Have a great day!
Hi Louise: I do own the Critcut Expressions machine. I love it. You can do so much with it. Scrapbooking, cardmaking, paper dolls etc. I invested in this machine and I am not sorry. Try it. Joan
Thank you Joan for your reply
Every time I see the infomercial for it I want it even more!
Looks easy to use.
Are there any cartridges you would recommend as "the must haves"?

Happy Cards and all that's paper!
Louise
alphalicious, doodlecharms, wild card are awesome cartridges that I use ALL the time for just about EVERY project.
Hi Louise. I love my Cricut. I also invested in Design Studio and later in Sure Cuts A Lot software which I use to cut svg files I make myself and/or download. I've purchased very few cartridges since investing in the SCAL so you can have the Cricut without having to purchase too too many cartridges.I use the machine frequently and when people ask me about it, I say I should have had a Cricut years ago. I highly recommend it for young crafters and young mothers. I can't even begin to imagine how much I would have used this when my son was going through school for school projects, etc. Also have the Cuttlebug and the Big Shot but if I had to choose a favorite, I'd be hard pressed to do so. They are all great tools!
Thanks for your reply.
I have not heard of the Design Studio and Sure Cuts a Lot,
I wonder if they are available in Canada?

Have a good day.

Hi Louise, I have the Cricut Expression. I love it couldn't live without it. I also have the CuttleBug which I use mainly for embossing backgrounds on cards. I can't use the Design Studio because I have a Mac. My daughters got me the machine last Xmas and it makes gift giving easy, because they just get me new cartridges. You can get the cartridges on line much cheaper if you look around. You can play with the machine for hours and still not even begin to scratch the surface of what it can do. It seems they are getting more advanced with the new cartridges, but I still go back to some of the old ones for some of my favorite things. I teach some classes to a non profit organization and this helps me a lot. I recommend both highly and have had to call customer service at Provo Craft once and they were very helpful too. My 8 year old high functioning autistic Grandson grasps the machines basic functions and loves to "help" me. I don't think you will be disappointed. I could talk about it all night.
Hi Louise, I am new to the wonderful world of the Cricut. I spotted it at a Craft Show and instantly fell in love with it. I make a lot of cards and also cut fabric shapes for applique on cushions & clothing. It also cuts vinly and I have some great vinly sayings on my walls throughout my home. I live in Australia and the cost of anything cricut is very high. I buy a lot of my cartridges on-line in the US for less than half the price, even with shipping factored in. I use (Provo Craft) Design Studio and Sure Cuts a Lot software, as mentioned above, with Sure Cuts a Lot you can use your existing fonts & dingbats from your computer. Sure Cuts a Lot, I bought on-line directly. I learnt a lot about my Cricut Expression on the Cricut Messageboard before I even purchased it. Hope this helps, but once again I love it & use it heaps.
