hello! I have a question.  I was trying to speed up the drying time of glitter with my embossing heat tool.  Now, Ive never tried embossing & this was my first time using it.  My question is: is there a heat resistant mat?  I was doing it over a regular self healing mat & it started to get warped.  Is there a mat that works best when using the heat embossing tool?

thanks Robyn! I will check that out. As I start to try new techniques, I find myself asking even more questions ! it's all fun though!
Generally if I am doing something with heat tool that is too hot to hold I will put it inside a baking tray

I bought a silicone oven mat on clearance in the kitchen department of a big box store.  Small items I often place in my tidy tray to heat, it keeps them from flying away and has not hurt the tray.  I have the sturdy hard plastic one though.

You can even take a large piece of card board and cover it with foil.  This gives the added benefit of heating your piece faster since the heat is reflected back up to the under side of your project.

Be sure to put your stamping mat away before hand, or it will melt it and make it hard.  Not exactly what you want in a stamping cushion.

I use a clipboard made of pressed wood (not a plastic one) and wrap it around with foil and tape it.  It's inexpensive, just te right size, easy to store and the piece to be embossed can be clipped on it to keep it from flying away.  The foil is to increase the heat and reflect it back to the embossed piece.
