1. How do you attach cloth or ribbon do a card? Do you use some special glue to do it?  What kind do you use?

2. Is there anything you can do to stop glitter from falling off a card?

hi Yolanda
[1] when i put ribbon, twine, fabric or flowers on cards i always use fabric glue its great and it dries clear i use Helmars i from Australia so i don't know were your from but any fabric glue will do.

[2] apply more glue glitter and let the glue dry then just shake off the excess glitter, have you tried embossing powers that you use a stamp pad apply embossing power shake off excess and heat until the power has melted.
i hope any of this helps
cheers Susan
Hi Susan,

I live in the US.

1) Won't fabric glue warp your cardstock?

2) I was using Christmas ribbon with glitter on it. The card sheds glitter when touched. I'm looking for a way to keep glitter from getting everywhere when it's handled.
Hi Yolanda,

I use The Art Institute Fabric glue - dries clear, isn't tacky and with the fine tip you can control the amount you apply so paper doesn't warp. Their regular clear designer glue also works ( and is the best for glitter too.) A bottle last a really long time (talking years here.) Seriously, a little goes a long way here.

Hope this helps.

I like to use double sided tape to attach ribbon to my cards. You can
make the tape any width you like. I always try to stick the ends under
a mat, as that gives a tidy look. Sometimes I also use stick glue
or super glue.
Hey Yolande, the best way to apply ribbon on a card is to use a tape runner or glue dots.Use liquid glass by Close to My Heart and then apply micro glitter by. Martha Stewart. Ur glitter will stay put.
I use tacky tape or a glue gun.
use glue dots, very strong or a tape runner like ATG gun by 3m, very strong also and you can run the adhesive on the back side of your ribbon for full coverage
I use glue dots and some times I use double sided tape.
What's ur favorite coloring tool?

I love markers. My current favorites are Zig Writers. They are dual tipped. But I tend to use the fine side more often than the broad tip. The colors are bright & they don't seem to bleed. I also like Prisma Color Premier. They are also dual tipped. The broad end is chiselled, which is great for Old English calligraphy writing. I think it acts like a brush tip without being one. The colors aren't as bright as the Zig Writers, but they're nice.
Hi Yolanda!! Just reading this post!! When I use glitter, I have a matt finishing spray I spray over my cards to 'hold it down' Like a good hairspray on a windy day!! And I use quick drying Elmers glue for just about everything now! I used to use glue sticks...cant find good ones that dont get all gacky!!! Just use sparingly and the glue is fine and wont warp the paper....a little goes a long way!!! Good luck..and coloring tools? I am still using the Sugarloaf ones..I think they closed a while ago on line and got them at ACMoore ...bought 2 sets as i just LOVE the pink in there also. When those are gone...I have NO idea who I am going to turn to. I also use watercolor pencils
Is there any particular brand of matt finishing spray. I mean, if I go into my local craft store will they know what I'm asking for?
