How to get a crisp, clear image when stamping

I get asked quite often how to stamp a crisp, clean image.   Do you see the difference between the image on the bottom and the 2 on the top?  If you are taking the time to make something for someone, you want it to be polished looking, right?  So let me tell ya how I did it…

The very first thing you need to do is to make sure you are using a high quality cardstock to stamp on.  I choose to use Stampin' Up's Whisper White Cardstock.  It is specifically made for rubber stamping.  It is bright white and smooth and is the perfect base for your stamped images.

Next, if your stamp has a big, bold image and is brand new, you might want to rub it on your pants to remove any film that may be there from the manufacturing plant.

Once you’ve done this, you are ready to stamp.  I use a tapping and twisting motion to ink the stamp.  Be sure to look at the stamp to make sure it is completely inked and wet.  You can also huff on the stamp if you want to before stamping.

When you stamp it down on your cardstock, be sure to give good, firm pressure without rocking.

If you follow all of these steps, you should have a clean, crisp image every time!
