Hello friends!

I received a very sad email last week from a craft blog I follow about Max, a 12-year-old boy who has been fighting leukemia for half of his life. The doctors recently told Max's parents to enjoy the time they have left with their son, and Max has one wish. His wish is to get 1 million cards. I do not know Max, but I am inviting you all to help me in making his wish come true. If you would like to help Max get his wish, please send a get well card to the following address:

Mighty Max Low

C/O Greg and Bambi Low

PO Box 111

Neola, IA   51559

This link will take you to Pink Cricut where you can find a little more information on Mighty Max Low:  http://www.pinkcricut.com/2011/03/mighty-max/

Anyone and everyone is welcome to send a card, it does not have to be handmade. A bought card with a simple "Get Well Soon" written in it will mean so much to Max.

Thank you!

I do look at parents with their children and often think good lord they look like trouble, but that's them having a bad day. When I see parents and children having fun together and laughing, they are the memories to cherish. I do have a niece and I'm blessed to have her in my life.

Right off to find that card I have for Max and to change it around a little.
I waited a long time before I had my first one. We finally adopted 2 children and it was 9 years after that when I finally got pregnant. Then I had 3 more in 4 years. They are all adults now. It was a very busy time for me, but well worth it.
Here is the card that I've made for Max. The colours and image are cheerful, so will hopefully lift his spirits.

Awesome, it is sure to please him. I love the way you personalized it with the M.

Hello ladies!

I'm so sorry I haven't posted any updates sooner, but I have had to finish one project after another and my migraines have been pretty bad. I'm so glad you are all working to help Max reach his goal! The cards you posted are absolutely wonderful! I have to spend the day at Emory doing some of the routine testing they use to watch for rejection from transplant, but I hope to get my first card posted next week.

The word about Max has really spread, and he's been getting thousands of cards. It was funny to read what a couple of the cards from other kids said. I want to post 3 links for anyone that would like to see more of what's been going on. One is from a few weeks ago and the other 2 are from this week; I don't want to post the articles because of the length. I do want you to know that Max will be going into the hospital tomorrow to prepare for a bone marrow transplant, so please keep him in your prayers.

Have a great weekend!

Hi ladies!

I wanted to give you another update on Max. He is doing well after a surgery that took more than four hours on Thursday. He received bone marrow from his father, and now they are watching him for signs of rejection. I know from having a lung transplant how critical and dangerous this time is for Max, so please keep praying for him!

Due to so many 'townsfolk' wanting to know how many cards Max has gotten, a local bank now displays the card count on their sign. So far Max has received 176,755 cards, and probably even more since the article I read was published.

I will look again next week to see if there are any new updates on Max. Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

What a struggle this lad has been through and his Mom and dad. I will have another card for him soon.
Here is my card I just sent to Max. Very Canadian. I hope he likes it.
