Paper Craft Planet is now on Seesmic Desktop!

We’re happy to announce a new way for you to stay on top of activity on Paper Craft Planet. Seesmic Desktop 2 has just been released. If you’re not familiar with Seesmic, it lets you access all of your social networking services in one place. What’s great about it (in addition to the fact that it’s free) is that it lets you monitor activity and post updates on multiple social networks at the same time, including Paper Craft Planet.

• It’s cross-platform: Works on both PCs and Macs.

• Tracks the latest activity: Check out the latest Planet photos, blog posts, members, and comments, alongside what’s happening on other
popular services.

• Post once, deliver to many: Monitor activity on the Planet, along with Twitter, Facebook, and others. Post status updates to all of them
at once with one click.

It’s easy to set up. Just install Seesmic Desktop 2 and add the Ning plug-in. When prompted, enter your Paper Craft Planet sign-in information. You’re ready to post.

OU! you may have opened a can of worms with this one! I'm doing my best to add the ning plug-in... it keeps saying it is loaded, restart the program... I do that and nothing changes. SORRY!!! But I need more direction if you don't mind.

Do you have a MAC? On the Seesmic blog, they appear to have a problem sometimes with MAC (they are working on the bug fix). Here is the posted workaround:

Fixing the Seesmic Desktop 2 Mac install issue if you have one

Most Mac users can install Seesmic Desktop2 fine but few users have the "application cannot be installed" message. Here is a workaround while we are working on a full fix.

-delete the folder called "Silverlight" at path...
"~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Silverlight"

-Go to “/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/” and delete “Silverlight.plugin”
Also in “/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/” delete “WPFe.plugin”
Go to “/Library/Receipts/” and delete “Silverlight.pkg”
Also in “/Library/Receipts/” delete “Silverlight_W2_MIX.pkg”
Also in “/Library/Receipts/” delete “WPFe.pkg”

update: also look for a Folder called Silverlight at path Users/User/Library/Application Support/Microsoft and delete it

don't worry if those files don't exist, just make sure they aren't there anymore

-delete /user/documents/seesmic

-shut down the browser (we used Safari but should work on any browser. Make sure you do that)

-go to silverlight and download it again
http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/

-when installed shut down the browser again (make sure you do that)

-restart the browser

-go to http://seesmic.com/desktop and install

Let us know if this did not work. We're working on a fix but that should at least get you started.

OOOHHHH! ok, NING. Sheesh otherwise I was lost with all this lingo I was running into- and I thought I was computer saavy, right.....

hmmm add the ning??? cant seem to work out how to find paper craft planet. oh dear I dont think I should have bothered lol

Yes -- NING is the platform that Paper Craft Planet is built on -- kind of like you build your blog on Blogger or Typepad. Add NING and then you'll log into Paper Craft Planet.

I am continually getting the messages either that Seesmac is not "on" (??????) or if I try loading Ning by itself you have to pay(assuming it was free before, because Seesmac is.....). Ning isn't availible in the immediate "plugins", and in the marketplace is where I get the message that the application is not "on" when everything is streaming??????

Tricia, I am sorry for the delay. I am going to do a screencast on how to install the plug-in. I just haven't had the time to do it yet. I did test all the steps before I posted them, and they worked for me. I know that is really no comfort at all and you're getting frustrated.

It will probably be Sunday or Monday before I can create the screencast and get it uploaded. In the mean time, please contact either NING tech support at www.help.ning.com (scroll to the bottom of the page and select "contact us") and/or Seesmic support. (Also at www.seesmic.com -- small "contact us" link at the bottom of the page.)

That is fine, I appreciate the help, wasn't sure if you were busy or gone or unable etc.. I thought maybe it is diffe3rent cause I have windows....not a mac. They talk about sending in for a plug-in, but because I am not sure that that is really what I need, I didn't want to try. Anway I will look into everything more, thanks again, didn't mean to be impatient.
