Paper Crafting, Rubber Stamping, Scrapbooking, and more

Good Morning --
I have always loved all the stitching people do on their cards.
How do you do this? What kind of sewing machine do you have?
I would love to get one, but I'm "technically challenged" and I would need something that is verrrry EASY to use...

I would only be using the machine to stitch on paper -- so I wouldn't need anything real fancy.

Any info would be appreciated -- Thanks so much! :)
Have a FABULOUS day!!!

I've been just using my Singer that I've had for decades, but often have trouble with it (dern tension and remembering which way to load the bobbin!). I've been thinking about getting the same one that GinaK uses. It's so economical and I could save my Singer for fabric stitching. :)
I use the Sew Crafty Mini that I got from my local A. C. Moore. It's small and can be carried anywhere. It's very simple to use. Hope this helps. Have a great day and happy paper crafting! Angela
Thanks Lynn and Angela,

I'll check out Gina K's blog and the Sew Craft Mini--

Take care
:)

I have a Janome Sew Mini that I got from Hancock Fabrics. It's great. Easy to use, light weight, has a few different stitch options, and fairly inexpensive, too. Hancock sometimes has deals on their website for free shipping, so if you get the machine and a few bobbins, you reach the total needed to get the shipping deal. You can see the machine here.
Thanks Lori for the information --
:)
I use the Janome Sew Mini, too. I love it! I got it last year for Christmas and have used it a ton. I would not hesitate to get another one if something happened to mine.
Thanks Niki -- it looks like that Janome is very popular --
I might need to put this on my list for Santa. :)

Thanks again
Kathryn :)
Another vote for the Janome and Gina K's blog for the tut to get started with it....I {heart} my janome :)
I have a Huksvarna and it's wonderful. I simply turn it on, choose my stitch style and sew. I was very intimated by the sewing machine for years. And even though I bought fabric all the time (still do and paper stuff lol) I finally learned how to sew last year. *blush* I found I was more intimidated by the machine itself than by sewing. So I buckled down watched the video's over and over and took a few sewing classes. I'm ok with sewing now because I learned my machine.

Now don't get me wrong..I'm not ready for Project Runway or anything. I'm lucky to stitch in a straight line lol. But I can do pillows and the easier type stuff.

I'd like to learn to quilt next. And knit.

Anyway...If all you are going to be doing is stitching on paper, I'd recommend perhaps a used singer. Those are cost effective. JoAnn's has good sales at times here on sewing machines (not used ones). Maybe try a second hand store???
I use my singer feather weight.

Has anyone tried the new singer pixie? they seem to be targeting stampers with it.. It's a cute little purple machine.. is it worth the $50 they want for it?
Thanks so much girls--

I'll have to look into the Huksvarna and the Singer Feather Weight --
Thanks again!!

Happy Thanksgiving!
