I know this is probably a silly question but what are the dimensions for a standard square card? I usually make 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch size. Thanks!

I've made 3, 4, 5, and 6 inch square cards, but I believe the 5 and 6 are the more "standard" sizes.
You got it - 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 is standard, and uses 1/2 of a 8-1/2 x 11 piece of paper.

I always make 6 x 6, lots of room to do what you need!!
I have been making mine 5"x5" because I have to make an envelope and that way I can just use a 12x12 piece of paper....
I know many of the square cards are 5.5 x 5.5", the last time I checked, this size did require additional postage.
Depends what size envelopes I have in stock, I'll cut the card to fit! At the moment I have 6x6 envelopes so I make 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 to account for bulk
I usually make cards the size to fit my envelopes - lately I bought couple sets of 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 cards with envies and I'm loving these..lot of space and you don't have to worry where to get an envelope ;)
I find the standard size (41/2 X 51/2) card is the best to use when mailing a card. Here in Canada it costs way to much when sending a square card!
Thanks for all the replies! I have been noticing that a lot of challenges uses the square size now. I think I am going to look for some square envelopes and then make the cards to fit! That is a bummer that the postage is more though!
I like to make 4.25 x 4.25 square cards because they will fit in a standard (4.25x5.5 card) envelope.
