This was my morning. Card got stuck in my Big Shot. Couldn't go forward, couldn't go back. Bits started to fall out when I forced it. Ended up taking the entire thing apart, and still couldn't get the card or die out. A complete and utter failure. The picture is such a mess that at least I can laugh at it.
Lesson learned: if the handle won't turn easily, start over.
What's your biggest crafting calamity?

Permalink Reply by Jenn Borjeson on August 31, 2012 at 9:53am Oh my gosh - you know, I just bought my first Big Shot (yeah, I know...) and I am always scared to death it's going to break any time I get the tiniest bit of resistance (which is, like, always). :) So sorry that happened - if you're in the market for a new one, check amazon.com - I got a really good deal on mine!

Permalink Reply by Sharon on August 31, 2012 at 10:43am OMG, LOL (big time), what a great visual reminder, to myself, not to take out my frustration on inanimate objects. Well not on animate objects either. I had better pay attention when my machine I try cutting with too thick of a sandwich!!
Permalink Reply by Susanna Boyd on August 31, 2012 at 2:10pm plate, embossing mat, impressiblity, cardstock, plate -- Pretty sure it fit before, but this time no joy. Don't know if I was supposed to be on a tab b or something but too late now!! Still have it -- card stuck and all!
Permalink Reply by Joanne on August 31, 2012 at 12:08pm SO sorry! But here's an idea that stemmed from a "mishap" I had. My computer was dieing and no way it could be repaired. It gave me so much grief, frustration and anger that I did something I have NEVER done before. Ya know how we all say we'd love to throw our computer out the window or smash it to shreds?!? Well, I did the latter. I beat the s---out of it with a hammer! I'm not proud of loosing my temper that badly , but I did. THE GOOD PART; it was smashed to pieces, and I DO mean PIECES. I kept a lot of them and used them on cards!!!! I did this one for my daughter. She teases me constantly about what I did, but hey, it felt great to release the anger. Afterwards, I had a glass of wine and felt GREAT!!! (anger management at home!) So maybe you can save some small bits and use them on a card!!! No mistakes, only new opportunities!!!

Permalink Reply by Lyn Bernatovich on August 31, 2012 at 12:47pm This story happened to my friend many years ago but it still gets the best laugh. Six of us were hosting an all day paper crafting event with 45 people in attendance. As it was time to get started, we were getting nervous that the sixth instructor hadn't arrived yet even though we had gotten a call from her that she was delayed. Turns out, she had placed all her kits and bins of stuff in the garage the night before. Her DH had apparently thought it was stuff for the garbage dump and took it along with the rest of the week's garbage to the dump! Upon discovering what happened, my friend literally drove to the dump and had to pick through garbage to find her stuff, which she fortunately did. She was still shaking with frustration (and anger at her DH) when she finally arrived at our event with her stuff miraculously in tact!
Did the same thing with my cuttlebug and had to buy a new one, shudder everytime I feel some resistance
