Has anyone other than me noticed that gallery after gallery contains mostly cutesy cards; i.e, little cretin people without mouths, fairies, stick people with exaggerated long legs, kids with huge eyes.  Are all the stamp companies concentrating on these unsophisticated images?

People must like that if that's what they keep selling... it's hard to resist "cute"!! I'm doing some new digis that are more realistic (my photo sketches). I've got tons more to upload but my site is still really new!! www.tiffanydoodles.com
I checked out your site and you do have some very nice things. I sell custom made invitations and the market that is interested in spending the money for that type of product does not want cute. That's acceptable for baby showers but even then, the more sophisticated, contemporary look has more appeal to them. Yes, I understand to each his own, but it is very frustrating trying to find images that aren't that cutesy look. Of all the stamp companies doing business today, I can only think of a few who do not focus on cute. I was hoping that if I found other cardmakers felt as I do, some of the designers might venture into a different look.
Jane - I'm starting a non-cute group thanks to your discussion topic! I hope you'll check us out and thanks for your inspiring me to help answer a need out there!

What is the name of the group?

Thanks!

Beth

Our group is aptly called:  Anything But Cute!  Stop on over!
Looking forward to this, Lyn.  I'll be with you!
Hi Tiff, wow just had a quick look at your site, and your drawings are beautiful, I love your dogwood flowers, just gorgeous :) x
I always say to each her own. I love the cute images, but I also use anime, realistic, stamp scapes, etc. Color what makes you happy. :)
Clarity stamps don't do 'cutesy' www.claritystamp.co.uk/gallery.php Barbara Grey 's designs are very grown up and lovely to stamp with. if you're not in th e UK tho' you will have additional postage costs

Wow - just had a look and these stamps are great! Thanks for telling us about them.

Check out Clear & Simple Stamps too. While they do have some cutesy ones, they also have realistic looking darlings.
Jane, I too like the more sophisticated and contemporary look. I do cutesy cards mostly for children or for someone like my brother who like those type of cards. It's hard to find what we are looking for. However, I noticed that almost 20 years ago it was the same; maybe not the large eyes but cutesy.
