Paper Craft Planet

Paper Crafting, Rubber Stamping, Scrapbooking, and more

Here at Paper Craft Planet we are getting organized this first month of the year and setting goals. I have another journal for you this week. This is the first journal that I have ever made or kept. My journal started with my DH cleaning out his "man cave" in the basement and throwing up a piece of cardboard for me to put in the recycling bin. I picked it up and thought..."This is too good to not use." I cute it down and used it as the front and back cover of my journal.

I covered the cardboard with pattern paper, decorated it and bounded it together. My first thought was to use my Bind-It-All; however, the cardboard I used was too thick to go into the machine. I had to think of another way to keep my pages together. Ah! My CROP-A-DILE! It worked perfectly to add jumbo eyelets for "o rings". The paper I added is white and pink cardstock. I alternated the white and pink, so I could write on pretty pink paper as often as white. Lastly, I added coordinating ribbon to the rings to match my color scheme.

Have you made a journal yet? Go ahead! I use mine for everything. I use mine to write thoughts for the day, funny things my boys say, lists, favorite quotes. There are endless possibilities.

Hope you can play along this week! Don't forget to tag your project 3d45, so I can pull it into the gallery.

Kim - This is a terrific "green" project! I love journals and don't go anywhere without my altered composition book. Looking forward to playing!
Stunning project, the colours are beautiful xx JAn
Beautiful creation & love that it's re-use recycle!
Thanks, ladies! My DH was surprised at what I made out of his trash! Hee Hee!
It's so funny that you should do this as a challenge. I just altered a composition book to take with me to CHA. I just know if I don't take something to write down my thoughts and ideas, they will be lost forever. I used paper from the Kaiser Craft Blush Collection, and I just love the pink and brown colors together. In the Inside I altered an envelope to make a pocket for business cards and other little things you collect along the way. The tabs were cut using my big shot machine, and a die from bosskut. Great Challenge. TFL
