Hi, friends! Keely here. I'm so excited to be hosting this week's 3D challenge at Paper Craft Planet--Creating 3D Stamping Embellishments. I love using my stamps to create embellishments for my altered projects, layouts, and cards. I want to share how I created this lovely dimensional butterfly.
First, I chose one of my favorite butterfly stamps by Stampin Up. Stamp 5 images (I know it shows 6 here, but you need an odd number). I colored using watercolor paints. They don't have to be perfect. Just paint them similarly. Don't worry about staying in the lines. We'll be cutting them out.
Cut out the stamped images. Choose two images. Create a crease down the middle and adhere one butterfly's right wings to the next butterflies left wings (as shown in photo).
Continue to adhere the 5 butterfly wings to each other to form one butterfly. You should now have one center butterfly and 2 butterfly layers on each side.
I added additional detail with gold glitter glue and gold fiber antennae.
I had so much fun creating this one of a kind embellishment. This would work great with any equal-sided image such as hearts, stars, flowers... You could use stamped images, diecuts, or punched shapes.
For this week's challenge, create one of these 3D embellishments and show us how you would use it on a card, layout, or project. Post your creation in the PCP gallery with tag 3D117 and add the link below.
I can't wait to see what you create!

Continue to adhere the wings back to back to form a row of the five butterflies. Now, take the middle butterfly (number 3 in the row of 5). This is the main butterfly you will see. The other 2 on each side are bent in half for dimension. Hope this explains better :)
