Paper Crafting, Rubber Stamping, Scrapbooking, and more

Hi everyone and welcome to 3d Challenge #12! I’m pleased to have been asked to host this week’s challenge and, especially, to have the opportunity to share such a cool project which was originally from Paper Crafts Magazine, October 2006 issue. This cool project was originally from Paper Crafts Magazine, October 2006 issue. The shoe template was designed by the incredibly talented Ellen Hutson and you can see her post here.

This shoe just screams diva! I can think of several uses for this template.
Here are some tips on constructing this template. Copy the pattern onto card stock and carefully cut out and trace onto the “wrong” side of patterned paper with pencil. Score lines per template and then erase any pencil marks prior to assembly. (I suggest before gluing together, fold all lines and assemble the shape to assure fit.) I used 1/8” red line tape and sparingly placed pieces of tape along the “wrong” side edge of one flap at the top of the toe, one flap at the inside heel, and one flap at the back of the heel. For the sole, you will actually lay tape along the “right” side of the paper at each of those flaps. These flaps will valley fold in place. Once you understand how the shape assembles, the pattern fits quite well together.

Glue the shoe together in this order: Back of the heel (long flap), top of toe, front of the heel (short flap), and finally, the sole should nest or drop into place nicely.

It is important for everyone to know that this is Ellen's product and is not to be used for any purpose other than personal use. She was really generous to let us post it here and we want to make sure that no one accidentally abuses that privilege.

Have fun decorating and I look forward to your creative designs! Remember to use the tag 3d12.

Oh so much fun, thanks Lyn! I've been dying to try this ever since I saw Sam make her Wizard of Oz Shoes.

Although, I only ever have Birkenstocks on my feet, I thought I'd give a fancy shoe a try. Here's a Strappy Shoe that I had a blast making.

Everyone's creations are so wonderful to see, can't wait to see more.
