Christmas Tree Box by AR

These seem to be all the rage in our area right now. Typically, when I see something for sale that I can make, I buy the supplies and then never get around to making the item! These are so quick and easy that you'll be whipping up a dozen before dinner!

Directions are here, but I have some tips for you.

  • First, the paper is adhered with Glossy Accents. Don't do what I did and smear the glue with your finger and leave finger prints!
  • Second, it's a lot easier to cut the paper first to the size of the tile and then adhere it then it is to try to remove the extra paper and make it look neat.

These make adorable magnets, packaged in a metal tin. Use a very strong magnet to make sure it can support the weight of the tile. These also make GREAT necklaces -- long or short, sports team or cute sayings, they work for just about anyone on your shopping list! Check out Pinterest and search "glass tile jewelry" for inspiration.

OK, your challenge for this week is to make one of these glass tile pieces (if you don't want to order the Etsy tiles, go to Michael's and buy large floral glass marbles). Post your project so that we can see how you did. They take about a 10 minutes to create, not counting drying time!

Have a great week!

Did you have any issues with Glossy Accents ending up on edges?  I've made some with Diamond Glaze, a similar product, and that always happens to me.

Yes, I used an exacto knife to scrape it off.  I finally ended up cutting the paper to size and using a paint brush to spread a very thin layer of the GA and then adding the tile.  I use a Ranger non-stick craft mat, so I can move the tile away from any "smoosh out" if that happens.

Well, sounds really great, not sure where in Sweden I can get those, but I will have a look around! =)

Another  cool iead for these tiles. Thanks ;0)

Great idea!
