Hello fellow Crafty People! :-D
When Adela, the magnificent Queen of all things 3-dimensional
asked if I would guest-host for the Paper Craft Planet 3D challenge,
I was honoured (and thrilled to get back to making something 3D!)
I hope you can play along!
At first glance it looks pretty grown up...

...It's an empty ribbon spool
made to look like a antique ribbon.
But the 'little kid part' is the secret compartment:
You: "Open it up, Mum!"
Mom: "Huh?.... Ouuuu, jewelery!"

2) Upload your project to Paper Craft Planet.
3) Be sure to use this challenge code: 3d161
so that we can see what you've made!

If you'd like to make a hidden ribbon spool box of your own
please feel free to use these
printable labels that I made to share with you...

there's a detailed tutorial here on my personal blog:
Hope you can join us to make something 3D that is
recycled or round!

Permalink Reply by Lynn in St. Louis on April 24, 2012 at 6:05am This is amazing Mel. How beautifully this turned out, and we could all use a little secret hiding place...and to have one so elegant is all the more better! Thanks so much for this tutorial Mel!
Permalink Reply by Susanlhl on April 24, 2012 at 9:54am That is such a cute idea. I have an empty cardboard spool on my desk just waiting to be altered. I would like to use it as a gift box too, so will eventually be giving this challenge a go :)
Permalink Reply by Mel M. M. McCarthy on April 26, 2012 at 12:27pm Thank You so much, Gals! I haven't made anything 3D in ages, so it was a blast. Hope you can play along. :-D
Super cute project, Mel...an a very original idea too. I've never seen anything quite like it.
Thanks for including the free template for us to play along.
