Hi Folks, I hope you all enjoyed last month page and learned something new. I’m glad to say that everybody has posted their page except for Cathy who has a problem with her hand but will be able to finish her page for Liz. Hope your hand is healing Cathy.

I have another interesting page for you this month but first read this verse I found which I think you’ll like

Friendship Album

Life is like a book and some characters in your story will be in every chapter

throughout your book of life. Some are in one or two chapters and fleetingly some only feel like they are in an odd paragraph. 

They may be in another chapter they may not.

So, Share and Care, Love and Laugh whilst you can, for tomorrow is always

Another page.

So let’s get started on our next page.

Again I have a video for you to view however the measurements given are not for a 6x6 album. 

 Don’t worry this is a very easy page and if your not sure just ask me,

The measurements for our 6x6 album are:  please read carefully I don’t want you to waste any cardstock.

 For the main page you will need  

             1, 6”x6” cardstock and 1, 5³/₄ “ x 5³/₄” patterned paper

 For the Pocket

1, 6x3” cardstock and 1, 5⁷/₅ x 2 ⁷/₅  patterned paper

 ( in other words quarter inch smaller than the cardstock)

 For the Photo Mat 

1   4x5 Cardstock,  (optional patterned paper quarter an inch smaller)

2,  1¹/₂ punched circles for the photo mat as a tab.( one on front and one on back of               photo mat on top of page)

Remember to leave at least half inch to the Left side of the completed page for your partner to make holes to suit her album.

    Please ignore the reverse page on this video but I have made an additional pocket on the reverse side to insert the photo mat and to give room for your info to your partner

 For the booklet  2, 4x5 cardstock for front and back cover of booklet . 4 pages plain or ruled          paper a bit smaller.

This little booklet can be left blank or you could use it to write down some info about yourself for your partner.

I had problems understanding what to do with the paper pages as it didn’t seem to open freely like the way its dose in the video so I created concertina pages by taking an A4 page cut down the middle length wise and folded it into a concertina page. I had to add another two folded pages for it to work. Then stick down the first folded page to the front book cover. And stick the last page to the back cover page. You will see in my photo a bow tied with twine this is just for decoration on my style of page, you don’t really need any holes here if you choose to make a concertina booklet.

Take your time and just play around till you manage to create a little booklet.  You might have your own ideas on how to do this.

 There are additional papers in the video but that was for using the school paper as in the video. You are free to use any patterned paper and card but be sure to make it look Vintage.

Now decorate your page remembering this is for a Vintage album and start by inking the edges of your papers.  If your unsure how to decorate take a look at Lyn’s lessons. That’s the best place to learn all about the Vintage style and take a look at some of many Vintage/ Shabby Chic blogs for inspiration.

I felt that this is an easy page to make so I have added an additional Tag for your partner that I would like you to decorate with buttons.  If you don’t want to use buttons on your tag you could do it on your main page or booklet.

Additional Tag

In addition to what’s on the video I would like you to make your partner a decorated tag. You can make this any size you like and decorate how you want.  Why not try and be a bit creative and do some stamping or embossing on your tag.

You can use anything you like to decorate your tag but I want you to use some buttons. ( in line with Karen’s interesting info re Vintage buttons) If you haven’t seen Karen’s discussions yet take a look at her page “Spreading Sweetness”.  Karen is so clever and always comes up with such brilliant and useful info. I am also looking for 2 Angels to be on call should they be required to make an additional page if someone  hasn’t received a page for some reason from their original partner.  Thankfully my Angels weren’t required last month.

Now watch the attached video to see how to put it all together and my photos will let you see what I’ve done.   Any problem just get back to me.  I’ve tried to write instructions clearly but it’s not an easy task so feel free to contact me if you don’t understand anything.

My Page,Photo Mat and booklet plus Tag

 sorry for poor quality of photo but hope you can see the extra pocket I made on the reverse and my booklet.

    you cant see in this photo but I added some seem binding tied in a bow which I wet slightly then scrunched it up and allowed to dry before using it. My buttons are down each side and I also included a beaded pin. You are free to decorate as you please.

Ps There will be a prize for the first person to find my mistake. lol!!

Maybe no one will notice but I have made a mistake in my pages but hey! were all learning and you can learn from mine and your own mistakes, so they say lol !!

All swaps must be posted by     28th March.  If swap not completed  by deadline you will be illegible to sign up for the following month, however you can rejoin once all previous swaps have been cleared .
