Paper Crafting, Rubber Stamping, Scrapbooking, and more

This week's lesson is about getting out our Ranger Distress Inks and a spritz water bottle!  Here's all you do:

Following the Rule of 3's, choose 3 inkpad colors, I chose Shattered Glass, Concord Grape and Peeled Paint (in that order).  I've been wanting to use my new Memory Box stamp anyway, so this worked out well for me!

Next, choose the lightest color first and ink the entire stamp image area.  Take the 2nd color and dab it in random areas.  Take the 3rd color and do the same random dabbing.  There is really no right or wrong to this technique.

Pick up the water bottle and holding it about 18" away, spritz the inked up stamp about 3 times.  Stamp onto either watercolor paper or a good quality cardstock as I did.

That's it!  I added a word to balance out the white area.  If this weren't a CAS Group, I would most certainly add Stickles, or glittery areas and probably a ribbon.  Since this is CAS, I'm done and off to clean my house!!!!

I do hope you can play along!  Please tag your card CAS35 for the group album.

This is a lovely card Lyn.  Its a beautiful image.  I dont have the distress inks, can it be done with other inks?

Lilian - I would play with any dye based inkpads you have and see what happens!
Beautiful card! Wondered how distress inks were going to be CAS when I first saw the title of this weeks challenge. Need to scope my stamps to see what I can use for this.
Just had another look at this card and it's got that hand painted look about it.  I dabble a bit with waterclours but I'd like to try the  distressed inks, which I have now ordered and can't wait to try this challenge.

I love this technique, so very light and airy.  It creates a whole new look to the stamp and makes it more than just stamping.

Do you use regular cardstock or water color papers?  I've done both, and like the water color paper the best, but I think that's only because it gives it a little room to spread after you stamp the image.  Very light looking.

Sorry this is so late but thought I'd share my card anyway. I've added it to my gallery too with a tag
