Paper Crafting, Rubber Stamping, Scrapbooking, and more

Join me this week for a CAS lesson in creating a quick masculine card PLUS a lesson in 1 Card 4 Ways!!!!

Basic Grey Oxford papers were used as they already remind me of a) masculine; and b) autumn. The layout of this card is plain paper on the top and pattern paper on the bottom dissected with a ribbon and (in this case) a decorative sticker strip.  The nice thing with guy cards is we don't have to fuss with embellishments!

Once the papers are chosen, then what?  All we need is a focal image stamped onto a lighter panel. I chose a Catslife Press stamp that reminds me of 'me' and/or my husband who was the recipient of this anniversary card.  To create depth, the panel is edge distressed with Ranger Antique Linen ink and faux stitching was added with a Zig pen.

Ready for 3 other ways to create this card????  (I covered the stamped image for purposes of showing the layout.)

Turn it clockwise a quarter turn and you'll have a portrait orientation with the pattern strip along the left side!

Next, turn so the layout is upside down and the pattern strip is along the top!

Finally, turn it yet again, and the pattern strip is along the right side.  Here's where I would create something like a 'gatefold' where the pattern paper strip would unfold.  I actually cut additional double sided paper to create this card and layered it to create the card front.

Okay, one card 4 ways!!!!  Have fun!!!!  Let's see what you can create!  Feel free to post your card below or we' ll post them into the group album and create a slide show! Be sure to tag your card CAS47 (exactly as typed) so I can find it.

Lyn, okay if I give this a go yet? Might be next week-end.
Oh sure...no deadlines in CAS...just lessons and you can jump in and post at any time!

Lyn, loaded two for review ;) Layout does work for all four though!

Okay, added third photo with opening to left.

Bridget - Thought I'd better start an album 'cuz we're gettin' some business!  I truly think we focus enough on guy cards and perhaps this can be our go-to place for us to post our cards.

Hi Lyn, Ive been working on a masculine card and made 4 using the same image and border but different sized cards.

In my album marked CAS47  I would add the images here but havent been able to adjust sizes. Hope you like them.  I had fun making them and now I have 4 male cards for whenever I need them. Thanks for the Inspiration.

How exciting - more cards to look at!

Lilian I love that die cut so crisp with black versus white. Wonderful job!

This lesson was such a good exercise, thanks Lyn.
