Paper Craft Planet

Paper Crafting, Rubber Stamping, Scrapbooking, and more

Sometimes I create a card and didn't even know how it happened!  This is one of those times that it just quickly came together in a CAS kind of way and I was happy with its simplicity.  Keep in mind that I believe there are many definitions of CAS...one being keeping it flat with no bulk.  Obviously, I'm ignoring that design style today!  Here's what I did to create this card:

Stamp a heart shape and cut it out to use as a template/pattern.  Trace around it with pencil.  (I tilted mine slightly for interest.)  Lay a line of white glue all around the pencil shape.  Don't worry if it looks wonky, the glitter will cover it up.  Pour chunky crushed glitter (I used Stampendous silver crushed glass glitter) along the glue and tap off and let dry.

Tie a double bow with seam binding.  Mist it with water (not soaking wet, just damp) and scrunch it up into a little ball and re-form back into a bow.  Find a flower in your stash and hot glue it to the scrunched bow.  Hot glue the ribbon/flower onto the heart.  (Hot glue gives a maximum stick over the glitter.)  Corner round two top corners (this is a top fold card).  Stamp a little word sentiment and you are done!

I sure hope you can play along and, better yet, share your card with us!  I'll start a slideshow/album as we begin to collect uploads.  Tag your card CAS51 and let me know you posted to your gallery by making a comment here.

Lyn!!!! This card is just beautiful!!!!!!

Oh how pretty! I love glitter : ) What a fun accent. I am soo playing along this week! :)

This is the post I saw on the leaderboards.  It's really cute.  But, I only have regular glitter.  Will that work the same or do I need to have the chunky glitter for this project?

It's worth a try Tina!  Lay a thick line of glue to compensate for the thinner glitter.  Let me know how it turns out!

Thank you!

Hi:

Got my card finished with a few changes. The glitter was not the course glitter but a fine grade. The seam binding I did wet and scrunched  and let it dry overnight up but when I did my bow it lost it's scrunch. Would appreciate suggestions on how I can fix that problem. Since the binding didn't scrunch I made a triple bow in place of the double bow using my Bow Easy. You can view my card here:

Lyn - With this challenge do we have to make the card like yours or do we make our own glitter card?

You can use mine as an idea and do your own thing!

Here is my card for the CAS51. Just a hit of glitter on the rose. lesson.

Here there is my card.

This is gorgeous Ina!

Thanks Lyn I just wanted it to be a little glittery so as not to take the colours and outline away from the rose.
