I've established a dedicated blog, posted a flyer on the community bulletin board at my local market, looked into the possibility of being a vendor at some local trade shows, and approached the owner of my LSS about card-making classes. Not too sure what to try next.
Hi

I have set up a blog too. I have also set up as a sponsor on UKscrappers and am doing a blog candy on my main blog. Am going to do some flyers to put in the craft unit that I sell a few card through and am trying to think of other things too :) I am just a bit concerned about the delay the stamps may face in getting into the uk, I think I may have to order in quite large quantities and hope to sell on rather than take orders.
hi ladies. i'm still debating if i will join ippity as i'm in australia and somewhat nervous buying from overseas. but if i could offer some suggestions. find out your crafty customers hang outs. are they mothers or teachers (hold free classes at the local school for exposure), are they part of craft clubs (join or create your own), get e-mail addresses of interested people and send newsletters once a month (be careful not to bombard them), donations (hold classes for well known charities in the area and raffle a basket of products). basically you need to let your target audience know who you are and where you are. there are too many blogs out there and you need to stand out. maybe get ippity to link to your papercraft group so people know you're here. there is a group on splitcoasters as well but the papercraft layout is great and you could create your own little community here. each person could donate a little for blog candy and competitions (spreading out the cost and making it more affordable for each of you) and the gallery would be great exposure for your product. anyway, sorry to babble. i may not be 'in' yet but the business idea gets me going!! good luck and i look forward to seeing what you all come up with!!
Hi Jessica,
It would be good to have another international {ippity} chick out there! The shipping has been an issue for me, my stamps have not arrived yet which is a problem so i'd say if you do take the plunge make a big order and don't plan anything too soon :)
Saw another great idea today. Instead of business cards, blog cards (business cards advertising your blog) are becoming popular. Maybe decorate some blog cards with your stamps and hand them out to friends and family to pass on at work, school, etc. It's good advertising!!
