Cardathon for 1000 Phollowers Party

What is a Cardathon, you are asking?  Well, I think the name may be a bit confusing so let me just describe it as an online crop masquerading as a tutorial.  I will be showing you step by step how to make the card with photos and all you have to do is follow along and keep refreshing your browser to see the next step.  Hopefully you will comment along the way.

On Sunday, October 24^th, those of you who want to and are able to participate will come online with me from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm EST and we will make a small ( 4 ¼” x 4 ¼”) easel card together.    If you have never tackled an easel card before, don’t be intimidated because it is super easy and really fun to make.

After the session, you can finish your card, adding any other embellishments or details you would like to and then post it here in this discussion area by 8:00 pm EST on Friday, October 29^th.  All cards posted for the Cardathon will be entered into a random draw for an awesome prize generously provided by Phindy.  The winner of the Cardathon will receive a $25 Michaels gift card.  If the winner has no access to Michaels, Phindy will provide a $25 gift certificate to her store.  The winners of all activities will be announced on Monday, November 1st.

To ensure that we can get the card finished during our session, you can colour your Phindy image ahead of time and select and cut your papers.  I would suggest, however, that you wait until tomorrow to select your papers because you may want to enter your easel card in the weekly challenge at the Phindy's Place Challenge Blog and the new challenge there may impact on what your papers look like.  I know, I am being a tease.

Following is a list of what you will need:

Image:       

Coloured and cut into a rectangle 1 7/8” x 3 1/8”

1 piece card stock to match your colour scheme - 2” x 3 ¼” (for mat)

(Note:  A tall, narrow image will work best for this design but you could go a little wider, say 2 1/8”.  If you do, your mat piece will need to be cut at 2 ¼” x 3 ¼” - a hint, I am using Missy Christmas Tree as my image)

Card:         

1 piece card stock - 4 ¼” x 8 ½” (card base)

1 piece matching card stock - 4 ¼” x 4 1/4 “ (card front)

1 piece patterned paper - 4 1/8” x 4 1/8”

1 piece coordinated patterned paper - 2 3/8” x 4 1/8”

1 piece matching card stock - 2 ½” x 4 1/8” (for mat)

1 piece coordinated patterned paper - 2 1/8” x 4 1/8”

1 piece white paper - 1 1/5” x 3 ¼”

1 piece card stock to match your colour scheme - 1 5/8” x 3 3/8” (for mat)
