Steampunk involves a setting where steam power is widely used ususally Victorian Era/Britain - that incorporates elements of either science fiction or fantasy! Cool Stuff!

Steam is the source of power for all the Victorian style transportation with a futuristic genre. Also the power source for all the technology.
