Paper Craft Planet

Paper Crafting, Rubber Stamping, Scrapbooking, and more

Can you believe it's already AUGUST!?!? As summer is winding down here in the U.S. and the kids are heading back to school, most of us have lots of unscrapped memories laying around. Hopefully a few new templates will inspire you to get those Summertime memories preserved while they're still fresh. And if new templates aren't enough to motivate you, how does a $25 gift certificate to Sweet Shoppe Designs for one lucky winner who completes all 4 layouts this month sound!?!? (if you're a paper scrapper and would rather receive a Surprise Grab Bag of paper goodies from my stash, you can enter for that prize instead...details below).

Below is a look at the August sketches. I designed these sketches and templates myself, but as usual I was inspired by layouts I've seen in various magazines and on blogs by industry favorites like Sarah Hodkinson, Kelly Goree, Summer Fullerton, and Emilie Ahern. As always, feel free to print and share the sketches and alter them as you'd like, but they are for personal use only (i.e. no commercial use).

If you're a digi scrapper and prefer to work with a layered template, you can download the layered templates absolutely FREE here: scrappy0810.zip

Or, if you're a paper scrapper and prefer to just use the sketches as a guideline, I've created a printable pdf file which you can download here: Scrappy Printout.pdf

When uploading your sketches to the gallery, please use the tag (all lower case) "scrappy0810) al ALL 4 of your layouts along with the individual tags as indicated below (scrappy0810a, scrappy0810b, scrappy0810c, and scrappy0810d respectively). This is very important.

So how about those sketches...

I'm going to go ahead and share my first sample layout with you using the scrappy0810a sketch and several goodies from our sponsor, Sweet Shoppe Designs:

Alpha is from Shabby Sugar by Zoe Pearn
Bad Sewing Machine IV - Don't Be A Square by Traci Reed

So there you have it!

Once you've completed all 4 layouts, to be entered in the contest, post links to all 4 layouts in either the August 2010 DIGI Completion Thread or the August 2010 PAPER Completion Thread, depending on which prize
you'd like to win - it doesn't matter which type of layout you create -
digi layouts can be entered to win the paper prize and paper layouts can
be entered to win the digi prize, but only those submitted in the Digi
Completion Thread will be eligible to win the Sweet Shoppe prize and
only those submitted in the Paper Completion Thread will be eligible to
win the paper Grab Bag prize. You CAN enter to win both prizes, but you
will need to create new layouts for each entry (that means 8 layouts
total if you're entering for both prizes!! Remember, you can flip or
rotate the sketches, add embellishment layers, etc to make them quite
unique!). Clear as mud? LOL. Just message me if you have any questions.

I hope you'll all play along with us this month! Let me know if you have any questions!! And happy scrapping!!

This is so cool, Jen. Great temps again this month. I already have 1 of 4 done :)
I agree! I am busily working through my Up & Running with Photoshop class so I can give PSE a try with the templates this month! I have a layout almost finished... though I would like to do more work with shadows (or mats) on the different layers. I just don't know how yet! :) Anyway, thanks again!
