This week’s scrapbook project was a travel mini book. While I’m always complaining that we’re broke, Rob and I were lucky enough to go to Key West last week for a friend’s wedding. It’s a photographer’s paradise. I had a ball.
Before we went, I bought a mini book kit from October Afternoon, it’s the Boarding Pass collection. I refused to use their heavy double sided papers to cover the chipboard, so I used my Silhouette and created my own custom papers. I could use the double sided papers for the inner pages — which I knew I would need!
Next step was to design a template that would allow me to put three pictures on a 4×6 photo and stay with the travel theme. I whipped up this little goodie to look like a film strip. You add your photos with a simple clipping mask.
I also added screenshots of weather, texts and maps for some added fun. I also added (although it doesn’t really show) some small pages of journaling between the photographs. I took most of them out before photographing, but I left one or two so you could see where I put things.
When I came home and was full of mojo, all I had to do was fill in the blanks and hit “print”. We got to enjoy the book while the memories were fresh. Its’ truthfully one of my favorite projects.
Want to see the entire book? I whipped up this little flash gallery, but I don’t know how to embed it. You can see it here. Please leave me a comment if you know how to embed stuff like this.
Here’s a little video “tour”:
Your challenge is to create a mini book for an upcoming event! Post your project in our Scrappy Sunday group — we’d LOVE to see it!
