OK Everyone Time to fess up on quick tricks you use...I'll start
Did you know you could take Copic pens and color white scrappers floss with it so you can customize it. Probably works with other pens as well but i am Copic converty. BTW That idea gets a shout out to Danni!!!
Also did you know you could take Copics and color a Bella String of Pearls bauble (Yes I sell them hee hee) and get a glimmery neat bauble that you can once again customize. Let it dry over night before handling as it does need some dry time :o)
The string of pearls is best as it has that pearl effect to it and is brighter to let the color show thru well. OK WHOSE NEXT!!!
I have used my ink pads to color white cardstock if I was out of a colored cardstock. I needed to matte my image with a piece of colored cardstock but didn't have it. So I just inked the edges of the white with my ink pad & let it dry.
I have a quick tip for tying a perfect knot and save ribbon! I wrap the short end of my ribbon (still on the spool) around the lid of my stamp cleaner (or a thick highlighter, depending on how big I want my streamers to be), and tie a knot. Then I slide it off the lid and cut the loop in the middle, usually at an angle to create perfect pointed streamers. then I cut the longest length based on the length of my card base, bend it behind each side of the card base, and tape the ends down with tape. Easy, peasy!! Does that all makes sense? It saves a ton of ribbon, and it looks perfect every time!!
I use the color with Copics for colormatching one ALL the time. Primas, staples, hardware, baubles, pearls, rhinestones, ribbon, paper, etc.
You can make your own felt flowers using your dies & diecut machine and a cheap sheet of felt from the LSS.
If you color something that ends up being not-quite-the-right-shade, go over with with Angel Wings Shimmerz or Pixie Dust Blingz. It tones down the color and makes it sparkly at the same time.
I do this with white paper flowers as well, only I use my sponge and sponge the ink from the stamp pads to the flowers. I also have started buying bunches of "silk" flowers on sale or inexpensive and dismantling instead of "designer flowers" I also have taken to creating my own "background" papers, whether they are solid or stamped and colored. Quite fun, personal, and saves a few pennies and makes it easier to use up all those scraps. :)
Beverly, thanks for the heads up on saving $$$. Being cutback on hours, will make start being more conservative. I have a bunch of silk flowers I could pull apart and do this to. I like the idea of creating the background papers as well as i always wished I had this color or pattern and such. Thank you for sharing. You are turning my frown upside down. :)
So glad to make you smile. :) I'm still trying to find time to find my way around here. But when I can I'll throw up some pics of some of the papers and flowers I've used.
Thanks for a lot of really great ideas ladies!!! Some of these ideas, I will use real soon!!!
I don't know that this is anything new, but while I have the "mess" of making a card, I do a couple of things. First of all, since the measurements are all fresh in my mind, I cut the cardstock, other things I need for a couple more cards just like the one I had put togehter, with the plan of either making another one real similiar OR using the overall design for another kind of card with another sentiment. I keep those pieces for another time when I just sit and put things together and put the finishing touches on cards that just need a thing or two before sending.
I also try to decorate each and every envelope with something from the design that I used from the card. I think it carries the design a little further, and makes the reciever of the card happier a little faster.... because they KNOW when they recieve it, it's different than the rest of their mail. ;~)
Ya all have a great rest of the week... and take time to stamp something today.. it's refreshing to the heart!!

This tip comes from a friend at the Norwegian stamping message board. Put stickles on your charms! They turn out beautiful!
Here are some that I tried out yesterday, I haven't had time to use them on any cards yet... It's not easy to get a good picture of shimmer and glitter, you just have to imagine how nice it looks!
(This is the first time I try to put a picture in a post, so we'll see if it works.) =0)
