CUTTLEBUG CHALLENGE #50

I'm back with another challenge for you. I hope it's a challenge anyway...
I was trying to come up with something special for this Cuttlebug-ers Challenge. I think I may have stumbled upon something. So here goes. This challenge; use an embossing folder and emboss a scene on WHITE cardstock. Then color the scene leaving the background white. For my example, I embossed with the "Winter House" folder. Then I colored the raised areas. Now you can color the raised areas OR flip your embossed image over and color in the recesses. But what I am looking for is a predominantly WHITE image. I colored my raised areas with my Stampin' Up! markers. Then I highlighted the roofs and the drifts with my silver gel glitter pen.
For my sentiment I stamped the word Noel in brown ink then using silver embossing powder and my heat tool I embossed the word. Then I used a pale blue/green ink pad and inked up the tag. Covering my tag with clear embossing powder, I heated it again. I repeated this process several times until my tag looked like it had melting snow on it. I dipped the edges in clear ink then in silver embossing powder and heat set.

nice card Betty. I like the way you embossed the sentiment. My card doesnt quite fit the requirements. I have no makers. I guess I know what I have to buy with my next AC Moore rewards check. Tried using colored pencils and it looked awful so I've just left my ef's white and added a little color by heat embossing words. Here it is.

It's very pretty MaryGrace. You could have used chalks if you don't have markers. Anyway I like the combo of efs you used. TFP

Yes, Mary Grace, your card is lovely. I see Betty has suggested chalks (think I'll try that next time) - I don't think it matters what we colour with as long as we colour either the raised parts or turn it over and colour the recessed parts.

good idea. i neglected to mention i don't have any scene ef's either which is why i used the swirls.

Love the snowman. I like the emossing folder you choose. The swirls go with the style of the stamp.

Very pretty MaryGrace perhaps you could have lightly brayered some colour on to the raised parts if you dont have any colouring implements. On very close embossing patterns like the swirls it works quite well wihtout going on to the background.

Well, the only 'scenery' ef I have is the one Betty used, so I used the 'lace tree' for my challenge. Here it is!

Marion I love this ef. Your card is lovely. TFP
AND you are rigth, it doesn't matter how you color (what you use) as long as you color either the embossed or debossed areas. And really I don't care if you use a scene or not. This challenge is all about the WHITE and the little bit of color. -
