Hi Marion:
I feel like eating a quart of ice cream right about now. This time we got into the hospital at 9am and found out at 2pm that the surgery was canceled. Reason given was lack of bed space.

Permalink Reply by Mary on November 3, 2012 at 2:02am Oh Margaret I am so sorry what a dreadful state of affairs. Your medical system must be in about the same state as ours. Thank goodness at least Private health Insurance helps a lot even though it is a strain to pay it. i do so hope that your luck changes for the better very soon.
Hi Mary:
It's the darn cut backs that have hurt the medical system. Medicine isn't expensive as we have excellent coverage. If the problem can wait then it looks like you wait. Oh well patience is the key.

Oh my word, how terrible is that after you getting there at 9:00 a.m. and finding out it was cancelled at 2:00 p.m. If it was lack of bed space, you would think they could at least call before you left the house. I hope you ate that quart of icecream ;) ...... it sounds like the hospital organization is in a "state of confusion" - there has to be a better way of planning than this! I'm so sorry, Margaret for both you and hubby.
Hi Marion:
One would think that they could be better organized but I guess it's not all their fault. What happens is this. Your in the hospital because you got admitted for one reason or another. They fix the problem and your are scheduled for going home but when you wake up something has gone wrong so hospital can not let you go. Therefore you stay till your ok. That bed that would have been available if the other person had not got sick. Now you wait till the doctor has a space for surgery and you start all over again. The pre-op is good for 3 months so lets hope they get this done soon. I figure it will happen around Christmas. So far I have dead on everything that has happened.
