Comment by cre8ive crafter on November 1, 2012 at 4:15pm Hi Tracey,
There seem to be 4 types of stamps that I must have lately...
1) Beautiful typography word art sayings ... for any occasion. Ones that can fit on a large label for a card or repeat to fill an entire background are fantastic. I like both the kind that you can color in and the ones that are solid and I can stamp it out in a hurry or it looks good even if I don't color it in.
2) Several Stamps (a group) that fit into a die cut shape. Like a Christmas ornament with 3-5 different designs that fit inside... or a gift tag with several options to choose from. Doesn't have to be holiday related - but I am a sucker for those ;-)
3) Anything elegant Botanical related (like the old beautiful PSX Personal Stamp Exchange botanical stamps and some of the old Delefield stamps) without words ... they could be Fall, Spring, Summer, Winter, Christmas, Thank You, Birthday, Sympathy or just about anything ... Just beautiful elegant florals that could be used for a card cover, a background, a page element or even broken down and only parts of the whole image used to create even more options. I use the everyday flowers the most, but there are some Fall PSX botanical floral scenes that take my breath away -- and the Christmas ones literally make my knees week... I love the ones that have coordinating smaller accent botanical stamps to use on an envelope or an embellishment. Just Google “PSX Rubber Stamp Botanical” and view images if you want a visual of the look I am talking about.
4) Speaking of envelopes… When I send cards, I love the envelope to decorated/stamped as well. I want the recipient to know that this is something special, not a bill or advertisement! While using several stamps and loads of time to create a scene on the envelope (leaving space for the postage and address) looks nice, I would love an image to stamp all at once on the front and maybe a coordinating one for the back. I know people use different sizes of envelopes, but I mostly use the standard A2 rectangle (4.375" x 5.75") and the 6”x6” square. I usually only buy/make the envelopes with the Baronial style (pointed) Flaps. On very rare occasion, I use the Announcement flaps (straight across horizontal).
Crazy thought here… I would love a couple of triangle shaped designs that could be used to stamp the inside of the pointed flap, so I don’t have to line the inside of the envelopes. The same stamp could also be used on the outside of the back flap … as well as a great corner decoration on a card or design element on a scrapbook page.
Those are my thoughts,
~cre8
