Feather in My Cap

Have you seen the new Morehead Collection at Crafter's Companion?  Eeeks!!! I knew immediately I'd be coloring this darling clown from the Sweety set.  How cute is he?  I know, I know - it could be a girl. But my two year old son's hair looks just like this (except his is white-blonde), so to me it's a boy!

I got out my Spectrum Noir markers and colored this little guy up.  Here's a list of the colors I used:

Yellows: GB7, GB6, GB5, GB4, GB2
Purples: PL4, PL2. PL1
Hair: B1, EB3, BG3
Dog: EB2, EB1
Outline: BG2

I was sitting at my craft table looking at my completed image, thinking how fun it would be if I could make the ball on top of his hat all poofy.  Then my daughter sprinted to her room, and returned triumphantly with this feather - perfect!  I used my craft knife to slice a small opening at the tip of the hat, and slid the bottom of the feather in to it.  Voila - the feather is literally coming out of the top of his hat!

Did you check out the new challenge this week over at the Crafter's Companion Challenge blog?  The theme for August is all about friendship - make a project and link it up today!  You could win a $30 gift certificate to Crafter's Companion USA.
