We can't wait to get to know you and hope that you can join us for our Whimsie Wednesday challenge (this week's theme is Go Figure-- check out the discussion for details). We just released 4 new sets of images, and one of them is in rubber! To help you get your Whimsie fix, you can stop by your favorite Design Team member's blog to get a 20% off coupon code until February 4th-- woo hoo! And as if that wasn't enough, our fearless leader and designer extraordinaire, Melyssa, posted another new freebie just for our members on the group page, and you won't want to miss it! WHEW, that's a lot!! See you soon!
Phindy, I make all my cards to sell to raise funds for different charities and give 50% of everything I make to charity. I have some cards at a chiropractors where 50% is given to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in London as they help poorly children throughout the UK and the world.
Each month I have a stall at a Business Complex and they sell my cards – it is only a small amount but better than none as my husband reminds me. I have a stall this week and I am raising funds for Haiti. Here is a link to the extract on my blog about the stall set up last week http://kyms-crafty-cards.blogspot.com/2010/01/regular-charity-stall.html
I also have regular customers that despite getting cards cheaper in town will ALWAYS come to me for cards as they are giving 50% to charity and also getting lovely cards to pass onto people.
I am also in the process of trying to make 50 cards for the DoCrafts Craft for Life Appeal (extract here if you'd like to take a look http://www.docrafts.co.uk/asp/articles/?page=930). I have made 30 thus far but intend on making 50 as my nan died of bowel cancer when I was 12 so it is very close to my heart.
With regard to the type of cards I make, I tend to make one-offs and if I do use an image more than once it is in a totally different way. I have only once had to make invites and use a train picture 30 times but I had to keep thinking of the charity that was benefiting from me making these invites as I didn’t like doing the same thing. The last few years I have got into using CDs rather than kits as this proved more beneficial to me. In 2009 I vowed I’d do more stamping and didn’t start achieving that really until the middle of last year and then I got into digi stamps and I LOVE using them and the rest is history, so to speak.
Hi Kym,
Are the cards you are making individually hand made cards? Or are you producing numerous copies of each image for sale? Do you have a store/etsy/shop-handmade site where I can see the cards you have produced?

How great that you donate so much to charity. I just started making a little money with my crafting and plan to donate art supplies to a local school's art program.
