I just stopped in to tell you about the prismacolor pencils or any wax pencils, too, but I see Melissa and Ineke covered it pretty well. :)

One other suggestion would be Bic Mark-Its. I got a BIG pack for around $13 at Sam's Club, and using a tutorial I found online about coloring with copics rubbing the lighter tip onto the darker tip and then shading and blending your image with the lighter marker works just as well, too. Good luck! The most expensive coloring medium isn't always the best for everyone. (I only have 7 copics myself for skin mostly, as they are SO expensive). Hugs, Kelly

Laurie,

I saw your comment about the expensive Copics and couldn't agree more! Just wanted to let you know that I saw a lot of different videos (just google "coloring stamps gamasol" or "coloring stamps sansador" it shows how to color images using a blending solution and colored pencils, most reference using Prisma pencils, but any wax based pencil will work. Hobby Lobby even has a 120 color set for only $19.99 and they work just as great as the $1.27 per pencil version of Prisma. I've colored with the copics and like the soft shaded look of the pencils just as much!!! Hope this helps!!!! I hate the thought of $3 - $5 per color!!!!

Hi Laurie! Thank you so much for the sweet comments and I'm glad that my work is inspiring to you. It thrills me to no end to know that something I love so much is enjoyable also to others. I hope you are feeling ok---my mom was just diagnosed with cystic fibrosis this year & its been a tough road for her.

hugz~

Hi Laurie,

It is'nt necessary to pay $ 170. I'am using Derwent pencils in a few pastel colours. You do need two colours for colouring the face. But you cann also do it with water colours or karisma colours.

have fun,

Ineke
