Thank you for your sweet prayers. God is just so amazing and He has done some mighty work on this unit within the Christian community there. About 40 to 50 of the other women who have previously been on one of these weekends came to the closing to be supportive of their new sisters in Christ. I am so blessed to have found such a wonderful Christian friend in you.

I had such a blessed weekend. Many of the women selected for the weekend are within a year of being released. The real miracle of the weekend was that there was an incident that happened at the prison unit on the day we were setting up. It even involved a lockdown I think. Usually they cancel all outside groups from coming in during such times. Because of all the prayers and of course, the power of the Almighty, it was not canceled, we went in as scheduled, and they even allowed us to pass out the 1200 dozen cookies we brought in for everyone on the unit. To my knowledge that has never happened before when they is any type of lockdown situation. I got to work with an awesome 65 year old musician who writes some of her own music. Although I had been on teams with her, I had not been a musician on those teams. She taught me so much about leading worship and she has such a heart for worship. The weather was wonderful although it was a record hot for one of the days at 80 degrees. A cold front came in on Sunday, but no rain or yucky weather, just windy. So many of the women who did testimonies at the closing proclaimed finding out what unconditional love is, some saying they had never experienced that kind of love ever before. Our prayer is that they bond with the women at their tables as a family of God, lifting one another other up and showing each other the love of Christ. We will return as a team once a month, so we will see how accountable they stay to the Lord, but many said they had been waiting as many as 10 years to get to do one of these weekends. Thanks for your awesome prayers. We felt so covered and things went so smoothly not only getting in but also within the team.

Wow, Susan, thanks for your powerful prayer. I can hardly wait to be able to report to you next week how the Holy Spirit will move through these women. It is the reason I keep going back. This is one of the places I feel so close to God. How touching it is to these women when they finally realize during the course of the weekend just how much God does love them and how He would never abandon them. So many of the scriptures we use on the weekend are from Isaiah and speak so directly to these women. We also try to teach them how unforgiveness has such a negative stronghold on their lives and the forgiveness ceremony on Saturday is always very moving. They are given a piece of rice paper earlier in the day that they are asked to write down any and everyone they know that they should forgive and include their own names.
The service of forgiveness consists of them coming forward to drop that paper in a large bowl of water. It desolves and the water left is merky and yucky and then a clergy points out that this is what they have been dirtying their lives with. It's pretty powerful. I'll fill you in on more later. And thank you so much for the prayers you lift. I feel their power and I know these women will too.

Susan, I am going into the women's prison on Thursday to do my ministry weekend for 4 days. Please keep us in your prayers. I'll add you to my prayer chain of those praying for us. It means so much to these women to see these paper chains filled with names from around the country who are praying for them. It is brought out on Friday morning. There is seldom a dry eye in the room even from the volunteers. I will be helping to lead the music to pray for clear vocal chords and tough fingers for the guitar playing. There are 24 inmates who participate and please pray that the Lord has prepared their hearts to receive the message we bring. Happy new Year.

Had to work at the church for 2 hours today for stay and play!! Also have been busy getting ready for my first Monday of the month stamp club. Cutting all that paper and getting everything ready takes a bunch of time and like you said checking out all these new spots here and catching up on all the challenges out there is keeping me busy. I don't know what it is about a challenge but they keep me so motivated. Did I tell you that I am now reading "The Same Kind of Different as Me" a true story by Denver Moore and Ron Hall. I also was given "The Love Dare" by a friend saying it is the 40 day book to a happier marriage. Happier than happy sounds rather inviting I guess.

Lynn and I just finished up with a two day craft show. We made about $260 or so between us, so I guess it wasn't too bad. I just forget how long the day is when you are just sitting. It was good hearing from you. Maybe I'll use some of my profits to buy a few stamps I've been eyeing from Artist Outlet. I'd love to stamp some cards to submit for publication so I could earn myself some rubber!!!KWIM!!!
