3D_Tutu

Pam Hornschu here for this week’s 3D Tuesday Tutorial, and I’m dying to show off this “toadally” darling hanging nightlight that I created with a slew of fabulous products from some of the best manufacturers in the craft industry. Featuring the Stampendous Cling Tutu Toad in the spotlight, lets give her a round of applause and an enthusiastic bravissima to keep her on her toes.

Supplies:

Stampendous Perfectly Clear Vintage Piano and Cling Tutu ToadDIY Bangles Pentagon Shape Wood Bangle and Large Bead • Tsukineko Rich Cocoa Memento ink • Copic Sketch Markers • Ranger Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabbers in White and Silver • Claudine Helmuth Studio Pink Acrylic PaintBeacon Adhesives Fast Finish and Zip DryGCD Studios Cloisonne paper • tissue paper • acetate • scallop circles and classic circle dies • flameless tea light • May Arts’ ribbon • tulle • paper rose • clear thread • needle • 3M Foam Adhesive and Craft Dots

Step 1: Die cut circles and scalloped circles to fit the back side of bracelet. Sponge edges with ink, layer, and adhere together.

Step 2: Swipe surface with Adirondack White Dabber for white-washed look.

Step 3: Stamp Tutu Toad in Rich Cocoa ink on off-white cardstock. Color and shade with Copic Markers.

Step 4: Fussy cut image, using a craft knife for intricate areas.

Step 5: Fold a 6 X 3″ piece of tulle lengthwise, and with a needle and clear thread, baste through the folded edge to ruffle piece. Knot at end to secure, and adhere to toad image.

Step 6: Paint wood bracelet and large wood bead with Studio paint. Two coats will be necessary, but dries quickly. Paint inside of bracelet with Adirondack Silver Paint.

Step 7: Trace oval shapes on sides of bracelet onto tissue. Stamp with images from Vintage Piano set, and cut out.

Step 8: Brush Fast Finish Decoupage over bracelet, place tissue pieces over wet medium, and brush another coat over all. (For a shinier finish, apply one or two more coats. Fast Finish dries quickly!) When dry, “white wash” with Adirondack Dabber as with layered circles. Follow same directions with large wood bead.

Step 9: Drill hole through bottom of bracelet to fit flame-less tea light, and smaller one through top to insert ribbon. Cut strip of paper to fit around candle and adhere.

Step 10: Adhere bracelet to layered paper circle. Place several layers of foam tape pieces to pop up Tutu Toad image, and adhere inside. Insert ribbon through large bead and hole in top of bracelet. Tie in overhand knot and trim excess.

Step 11: Adhere tea light to bottom of bracelet/frame. Place adhesive dots around the middle inside bracelet. Place 3″ die cut acetate circle against the edges of these to hold in place.

Pam...too cute for words!!!!  Love the re-purposed items in this project.  At first I thought the circle shape was a Mason jar ring but quickly saw you used a bracelet.  Fabulous idea!  I have bracelets that are too big for my wrist that would work great.
