Dreamweaver Giveaway and Tutorial – Less is More!

Heart Card

Welcome to another Dreamweaver Giveaway and Tutorial!  I love hearts no matter what time of year and this stencil (LG712) was a perfect choice for me to work with.

Before I even had the card designed, I knew I would be making the heart in the black embossing paste and I knew I would use pink as a card base because it reminds me of a french country look and just goes together in a lovely feminine way.

Here’s how I prepared the white card stock panel and embossed the heart vine:

Taped panel and supplies

Sticky notes hold the stencil to the white card stock and keeps it clean too!

stencil removed

Carefully lift everything off the paper and voila!  Pretty darn simple, huh?  Don’t forget to wash your stencil and pallet tool right away with soap and water and a soft brush.  I use an old tooth brush very gently to remove all the paste.

So, here we have this detailed heart vine wreath and all it needed was some white pearls to add dimensional interest.  I gotta say I’ve never used so many pearls on one card but this stencil just kept calling for more and more to be added!  The white heart panel was trimmed to 3-1/4″ square and corner rounded.  I paper pierced each corner just to break up the plain whiteness of the panel.  The scallop square is from Sizzix and the pink paper is from Amuse.  Ribbon is from Michaels and the bauble is Tim Holtz Ideology and pearls are Martha Stewart.

Here’s another view of the card showing more of the dimension the pearls add.  The finished card is 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 inches.

I have that stencil and love it - your card is striking.  I would like to get LJ896 - Large Flourish, I could do a lot with that.  Thanks for sharing your card and for the opportunity to win a stencil.
