Hi everyone and welcome to another fun Dreamweaver Stencil Giveaway and Tutorial! Today's card is really outside of my usual 'vintage' style and uses 3 stencils, 3 colors of metallic embossing paste, and 3 colors of glitter! As many of you know for the month of August, the Dreamweaver Dream Team's theme is Christmas in August. Be sure to visit the Dreamweaver Stencil
page on Pinterest too!
My inspiration began with the ornament stencil (LL470)
and paste embossing one with metallic gold
, one with metallic copper
, and one with metallic silver
pastes. Once they were dry, I cut each one out. Trick: To get a nice rounded edge, turn the paper while cutting, rather than turning your scissors. I used long scissors rather than the smaller size to cut out the ornaments. Notice the tiny white edge that is left around the cut out shape.
Next, I laid the flourish stencil (LG713)
over the cut out ornament and pasted it with translucent paste. While still wet, I sprinkled glitter over the paste and set aside to dry. 1/8" holes were punched in each ornament and threaded with gold metallic thread. Copper mirror card was layered onto the grey embossed dots.
I created a dry embossed background with the large dots stencil (LX7011)
using a cardstock from A Muse Studio.
Here's a side angle to show the dimension that was achieved with foam tape. Hug Snug seam binding was added for textural interest and to visually anchor the ornaments.
Here's a photo of the products used in today's card. The Palette Stamp & Stick Gluepad
were used for the inside sentiment from Inkadinkado
The image was stamped directly into the Palette inkpad and pressed onto vellum. Copper Art Institute glitter
was sprinkled over the sticky surface and tapped off.
