Yikes! Apparently I came home from CHA without my brains! Maybe I should contact the lost and found? Somehow, I totally forgot that today was my day for the Friday sketch. I scrambled quickly, and created the sketch from my blog post this week for Dreamweaver Stencils.
In keeping with my recent trip to CHA (the Craft and Hobby Association show in Anaheim, CA), this card features one of Dreamweaver’s new release designs called the Bride (duh). All of the Dreamweaver team have had fun putting our own spin this lovely lady, with techniques from simple machine embossing, brush stenciling, double-glitter, and my favorite…letterpress or ink transfer. Simply done, you spritz the stencil with your favorite mist (I used Dreamweaver Memories Mists in Sparkling Silver and Iridescent). Place the stencil on the base plate of your embossing machine (I love my Big Shot Pro!). On top of this, layer your cardstock panel face down, the rubber embossing mat, and the two clear plates. (Note: the two clear plates on the very top protect your stencil from the machine roller.) Run the stack through and carefully lift your card panel from the stencil. Not only does the ink transfer, but it also embossed the design as well! For the strip across the bottom, I used the same technique, but with the Dreamweaver Damask stencil. After doing the letterpress, I spritzed both pieces with the Iridescent mist for added sheen. I added a sentiment from Stampendous, a swirl of pearls from Zva Creative, and a few tiny rhinestones. I love the style of this card, the panel being popped up and attached above the top of the base card.
I hope that you’ll play along with the Paper Craft Planet Super Novas for this week’s sketch challenge, and upload your own creations with the tag SK011813.
