Giveaway and Dreamweavers Tutorial- Stenciled Acrylic

Hi everyone! Wendy Price here and today I’m going to be sharing a tutorial for stenciling with paste on acrylic.

Supplies Used:

To begin with you’re going to want to cut your Clear Scraps acrylic sheet down to make a card blank. The acrylic cuts easily with either scissors or a craft knife. I like to run a craft knife along a metal edge ruler a few times to cut it.  I cut my acrylic cardbase to  4.25 x 11 inches. (DO NOT fold your card yet. It will be easier to do this after you’ve stenciled the card)
Next peel the protective coating on the front of the acrylic. Tape your acrylic down on your work surface. Next tape your stencil down over the acrylic. Now you are ready to stencil!

Place a generous amount of paste on your paste spreader and spread the paste over your stencil. While the paste is still wet, peel off the tape. Lift off the stencil and apply glitter to the wet paste.  Tap off the extra glitter. The glitter will  stick to the acrylic in places you don’t want it because of static, but thats ok for now. Allow your paste to dry on the acrylic. When it is dry, take a dry paint brush and brush off the extra glitter. All that is let to do is decorate the card!

To  add a sentiment or message inside the card without having it show through the acrylic, we’re going to adhere a card within the card. I created a cardbase 1/4 inch smaller than the acrylic card base. Adhere to the inside of the acrylic card base with Zip Dry. Here you can see a peek at the sentiment inside the card. I stamped the amaryllis in Memento Pear Tart on the corner and added a sentiment.

And here is another closeup of the amaryllis and stenciled background on the front of the card. That Crystal Glitter is absolutely sparkly and gorgeous in person!
