Hello again, its me, Cherylynn Moser, back today to share with you a fun and easy technique to use with your Dreamweaver Stencils. And the best part is you can get real inky doing it! That is perfect because this month's Dreamweaver challenge on the Dream It Up blog is to "Get Inky!" I hope this post will inspire you to get inky because each of the two winners get to choose the Dreamweaver stencil of their choice!!!!
Okay, now on to today's technique. It is called "Faux Cross-Stitch" because, yes you guessed it, cross stitching!
For my project I chose to go with a fall theme since tomorrow is the first official day of fall (where did summer go?) so I chose the Scarecrow stencil, LG686.
STEP 1: adhere your stencil onto your cardstock and secure with removable tape:
STEP 2: Using the ink of your choice (I prefer pigment ink for their creaminess) and a stencil brush, add color to the stencil image. NOTE: Choose light colors because you need to stencil over them in the next step.
STEP 3: Gently lift the stencil and sandwich a piece of Dreamweaver's Cross-Stitch screen between the colored image:
Step 4: Using darker colors, again apply ink over the stencil (and cross stitch screen) to imprint the cross stitch pattern. NOTE: I usually angle my screen so I get an "x" impression rather than little squares.
When its all done, remove (and clean) your stencil and the screen and finish assembling your creation:
See, wasn't I right. It sooo easy and so fun to do! I hope you'll give this technique a try. You won't be disappointed.
Now on to some very important business!!!
CONGRATULATIONS TO SHERRI PIECHNIK who left a comment on Lyn's tutorial. Sherri will be getting the LG714 Elk just for leaving a comment! All she needs to do is email her address to phornschu@yahoo.com.
Now would you like to be the next winner? Its really easy. Just leave a comment here along with the stencil you'd like to win. One lucky winner will be randonmly drawn from all the comments made within the next two weeks. To see all of Dreamweaver's stencils (and other cool product, like the screen) head over to Stencil with Style. Remember, you only have two weeks to pick out the stencil you'd like to win and leave your comment, so don't delay! Good luck to all!
Hey, how cool would it be if not only did you win the stencil of your choosing just for leaving a comment here but you also won for entering the Get Inky challenge over on the Dream It Up! blog! What have you got to lose, go ahead and give the challenge a try!
Also remember to like Dreamweaver Stencils on Facebook so you don't miss out on any more fun and exciting opportunities.
Okay, that's all for me today. Go offline and get creating!
Hugs and Happy Fall to One and All!

Comment by Caroline Duncan on September 27, 2012 at 12:42pm Beautiful card and the screen really does give a super textured look to it! I'd love to win the LJ836 Oval Doily... so many possibilities!
That's gorgeous - but too complicated for me. I'd like to win an easier stencil, such as the LL3024 Cherry Blossom Shape stencil.
Super cute and easy to do! Thanks for the tutorial. I would love the LG703 stencil.
Super fun tutorial...I like the LJ 806 chicken wire stencil...would be great for canvases...
Love this tech! Need to incorporate this in my future projects. I would love to win a stencil LJ 806 Hexagon. Thanks again for the tutorial.
