Hello all. It’s a great day today. Not only is it Cinco de Mayo (raise your margarita and toast the day),and it’s World Scrapbooking Day – but the BIG highlight of today for me is that Waltzingmouse Stamps begins its previews of three new stamps sets to be release on May 8th. I’m so excited about these sets, especially the set we (the design team) are working with today – a set that has long been awaited since the release of its companion set, Half Pint Heroes. Today we introduce Half Pint Heroines just right for that little girl, or big girl in your life.
My project is a very LONG card. A LONG time ago at a scrapbook convention, I bought this package of LONG cardstock - perfect for those accordion foldouts you might add to a page or mini-book. Well, I trimmed one down to 5-1/4 X 12 3/4 folded three times so that it will actually fit into a regular A-2 card envelope.
I used blue Chalkboard Glimmer Mist to give a nice sky blue background.
I stamped the hot air balloon onto the top of the tri-fold card and then stamped it again onto my patterned paper. I used the patterned paper to paper piece the hot air balloon. I colored my basket and the little Heroine with Copic Markers and added a bit of bakers twine as the guide wires.
My clouds were all stamped onto white cardstock, spritzed with shimmery glimmer mist and cut out - some popped up with foam dimensional adhesive.
I drew dashed lines along my card to show the flight of those little birds (aren't they cute!) leading downward toward the bottom where my sentiment is attached.
I added a small bouquet of balloons that I cut from my Cameo. I had great fun creating this card and loved the heights that the LONG paper added to the scene.
Be sure to check out what the other Design Team members have to share with you today featuringHalf-Pint Heroines.

Thanks for look in, and please stop back by tomorrow for more peeks into the Waltzingmouse Stamps release on the 8th.
