sketch

Today’s sketch is an odd size (4″x9″) which fits in a business size envelope.  It can easily be adapted to fit a regular A2 size envelope as well.  It is also a play on a matchbook fold.

sketch open

The card front is 4×9 inches.  The flap is 2″ and folds over the front panel.  If the card were to be opened flat, it would measure 10″ x 9.”

Card Front

Here’s the finished card where I used Fancy Pants Hopscotch papers, Prima Mixed Media Doll by Julia Nutting (love her!) and an A Muse sentiment from the Fight Like a Girl Breast Cancer stamp set.  The doll was stamped in Ranger Archival Coffee, paper pieced and colored with scribbles of Distress Markers onto a craft sheet and painted with a water brush.  She is edged with Distress Vintage Photo.

Card Partial Open

Here is a view with the flap open.  The ric rak is a diecut from MFT and is machine stitched in place.  The Prima flower and banner embellishment hold the flap in place.

Card Open

Here’s the card fully open.  In order to create the two different pattern papers on the front, I added a pattern piece cut 9″x6″ and scored a 2″ flap.

Hope you will try this sketch challenge and I’d love to see your card design!  Be sure to add the tag sk030813 when uploading your card.

Happy paper crafting!
