Now that you've colored an image you might be wondering what to do with that white background. Today I'm going to show you a technique that not only gives your image a colorful background, but adds some bling to your finished project.

Gather up these supplies:

Step One: Stamp the same image as your project onto a sticky note and trim around the outer edge. This will be a mask to protect your image through the next steps. Use an anti-static pouch or corn starch to prepare the surface for glue.
Note: Use multiple sticky notes if the image is larger.

Step Two: Hold the sponge dauber and add glue just like you would on an ink pad. Be sure to go all around the sponge surface and rub it in gently with the bottle tip.

Step Three: Start daubing glue around the image starting closest to your sticky note mask and daub farther apart as you move away from the mask.

Step Four: Adding glitter on this technique is delicate work, so use a small spoon, rolled paper or pinched between the fingers to sprinkle across the glue. Take off the sticky note mask and start sprinkling glitter around the outer lines of the image.

Step Five: Tap off excess glitter. If you are using multiple glitters, tap the excess glitter away from the rest of the glue.

Step Six: Add more glitter until you start seeing the shape of the dauber sponged glue.

It's that easy! So now you can use this fun technique on your next project.

Like this technique. Thanks for sharing. Bought some of the small daubers but only used one for applying chalk.

Okay, you have convinced me that I do need this glue and pad. I have looked at it many times and put it back on a shelf. This is a really cool project and well done. Looks easy peasy. thanks Janelle.
Great technique and easy, too. Thanks for sharing!
Great Tutorial, thanks for sharing! Shell~Alaska♥
What a great way to add glitter to your card! I had never thought of using a dauber (which I have stashed away somewhere) and the glue refill -- bet this would work great adding glitter highlights to stencilled embossed images.
Comment by Pam Hornschu on June 26, 2012 at 11:09pm Wow. Never thought of adding glue to the small daubers for a "polka dot" effect! Thanks for the cool tip!
