Here's a fun quick tutorial for you -- use you scrap paper to create a chevron background.  


Cut your patterned paper into squares. I used doubled sided paper to make life simpler.


Cut the squares in half diagonally.


I used my Xyron to make sticking the triangles down.


Lay out your triangles like this. I used a straight edge.


Add your alternative color like this.


Now, repeat a row of alternate color, but match up the design as shown.


Now we’re going to repeat the pattern with the original color. Finish out the bottom row too.


Trim off the overhanging paper.


Embellish your card as desired.
